  Genco Energy evolved from a separate business specialising in design/build construction and project management in New Zealand.
• 2006
  The founders/principals where called on to provide project and construction management support for a power project in North Western Australia.
• 2007
  Emanating from the project success in NWA, Genco Energy Ltd was incorporated in May 2007 and the business expanded into power project development.
• 2010
  Genco Energy Ltd separates its businesses of power project development and project management with the formation of Genco Project Management Ltd.
• 2011
  Genco Project Management Ltd establishes a project office in Perth, Western Australia.
• 2011
  Genco Energy Ltd establishes a subsidiary Gengear Ltd to specialise in power-gen equipment trading and brokerage.
• 2013
  Genco Energy Ltd establishes a subsidiary PT. Genco Energi Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia, with local country managers.
• 2013
  Genco Energy commences pursuing projects in Botswana and Nigeria. 
• 2013
  Genco Energy Ltd shifts its headquarters to Ebene, Mauritius to be more central to its African and Indonesian customers.
• 2014
  Genco Energy (Mauritius) Ltd establishes a subsidiary Genco Power Nigeria Ltd in Lagos, Nigeria with local country managers.
• 2015
  Genco Project Management Ltd establishes a project office in Melbourne, Australia.
• 2016
  New holding company Genco Energy Group Ltd relocates Genco Energy headquarters back to Auckland, New Zealand.
• 2021
  Genco Energy Group Ltd establishes a project development subsidiary Genco Energy Holdings Pty Ltd in Sydney, Australia with local country managers.
• 2023
  Genco Energy Group Ltd acquires 100% of subsidiary Genco Energy Holdings Pty Ltd.
• 2025
  Genco Energy Group Ltd acquires 100% of New Zealand aviation valuation company Southern Aircraft Sales Ltd and renames it Genco Valuation Ltd.
